As part of our planned expansion, we are looking for a Gardening Supervisor to join our caring and dynamic team, which is working to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities and poor mental health. The ideal candidate will help develop our volunteers’ skills, while maintaining and improving customers’ gardens and grounds.
The Hextol Foundation
We are an independent charitable company based in Hexham. Our purpose is to provide working opportunities to people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs so they can develop their skills and self-esteem and grow in confidence, creating a positive impact on the quality of their lives. We run several enterprises that provide safe and supported work experience and work-based training for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. See www.hextol.org.uk for more information about us.
Hextol Gardening Service
One of our key services is gardening, and we have teams running from both our Hexham and Newcastle bases, working for customers across the Tyne Valley. The teams at both sites provide gardening services to domestic customers, schools, and other institutions. Staff work with teams of volunteers to carry out this work, which includes garden maintenance, soft-landscaping, design and improvement.
We are planning the development and expansion of our existing Hexham based service and are therefore seeking an additional Gardening Supervisor.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone with enthusiasm, dedication, the desire to help others, and a love of gardening. Working to make real and tangible differences to the lives of our volunteers.
You will receive a full induction, training, annual leave (plus public holidays) and the chance to work in a supportive and rewarding environment.
For an application pack, please call Bruce on 01434 605253 or email [email protected] quoting ref Gardening Supervisor Vacancy.
Closing date for applications: Noon on Thursday 14th October 2021. Interviews will likely be held in end of October, and appointment will ideally start as soon as possible thereafter, subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
