Expansion for Hextol Gardeners!
Two of our most popular service areas are the gardening operations in Hexham and Newcastle.
In the past the Newcastle crew has worked exclusively with two schools in the west end of the city, doing amazing work at both Westgate Hill Primary School and Moorside Community Primary School.
They not only provided year-round care for the school grounds but also developed the external areas to increase the opportunities for outdoor learning and to encourage the children to engage with their surroundings. This included projects such as a woodland classroom with a living willow tunnel and a dinosaur memorial garden, the design and creation of which the year 6 children were fully involved in.
Due to an internal reorganisation at the schools our contract with Westgate Hill came to an end during the summer which is a great shame as our time with them included some wonderful experiences and we have loved working with the children at the school. We miss you all!
However, we have taken this opportunity to reorganise our gardening service. With some concentrated marketing and as a result of the reputation we have built up for the quality of our work we have considerably expanded our reach, and have carried out work at Highfield Middle School, Backworth Village Hall, Little Rascals Nursery in Tynemouth and Brunton First School. In addition we are now offering our services to domestic customers throughout the Tyne Valley.
We are now looking to expand our services to include care-homes and a greater variety of commercial premises and to introduce additional teams to cover the increase in our workload.
This has been a fantastic expansion of our gardening service with lots of potential for the future. Most importantly this has enabled us to not only secure the working opportunities for those in our teams, but also to go on a recruitment drive to fill additional places we’ve created.
